Explore The Unknown Of Senegal And Gambia

Tour Overview

In this exceptional tour ,we will go the discover of Dakar and its highlights . Then boarding ,in a ferry ,we will head to Goree island ,a world heritage ,where we will visit the Slaves House and its famous Door Of No Return .

At the Pink Lake ,after seeing the salt harvesters ,we will board on a 4X4 to drive on the sand dunes and the beach . For sure ,something ,you will love !

Then we will board on a 4X4 for a half an hour safari with the lions ,before going to embark in a 4X4 for a maximum two hours safari game drive.

In the Gambia ,we will explore Banjul ,the capital city with its famous Albert Market . Then we explore Kachikally with its sacred crocodiles .

Discovery of Fadiouth or the Shells Island and its famous mixed cemetery ,where rest Muslims and Catholics

Boat ride also on the Saloum Delta or the Senegalese Amazonia . You will also discover Palmarin Reserve to see its hyaenas and salt mine .

This tour will enables you to explore villages ,market ,and fishing harbour .

Itinerary :

Day1 : arrival ,welcome transfer to hotel in MBour

Day 2 : exploration of Dakar and Goree island

Leave for Dakar ,we will see the highlights among which the monument of the African Renaissance . Then we will board in the ferry for Goree island . Upon arrival ,visit of the Slaves House and the rest of the world heritage . Lunch in a sea view restaurant and we go to the Pink Lake to see the salt harvesters and have a 4X4 tour around the sand dunes and the beach . And back to your hotel .Overnight at NDaali hotel ( a small hotel near the beach ) or Bougainvillées in Saly Beach Resort .

Day 3 : Safari Game in Bandia Animals Reserve and Safari with the lions

We leave at 07:30 for the Safari with the lions . Upon arrival ,we will embark in an iron-fenced protected four wheel drive for an half hour safari . You can even see them on the roof of the vehicle . This is something to experience . Sure you will love it .

Than in Bandia Animals Reserve ,we will board in a 4X4 looking for the most emblematic african wild in their natural habitat : We will see the : giraffe ,roan antelope ,derby and cap eland ,buffaloes ,zebras ,hyaenas ,impalas and so on … Lunch at the bar ,near the crocodiles' pool . And continuation to Kaolack . Dinner and overnight at Relais Kaolack .

Day 4 : Kaolack – Banjul

Leave early in the morning for the ferry for Banjul . At the border ,we fill the formalities . Upon arrival at Barra ,we board in the ferry . Arrival ,we go directly to our hotel . Then we will come to Visit to Kachikally Crocodiles Pool and Banjul ,the capital city . Dinner and overnight at Lemon Creek hotel

Day 5 : Banjul - Shells island – Ecolodge de Palmarin

We leave Banjul in the first ferry for Barra . From Barra ,we take back our vehicle for Senegal to explore the Shells Islands or Fadiouth . A unique island made exclusively with shells . Upon arrival ,we will take a wooden bridge to explore : the Catholics church ,the holy baobab tree ,the millet granaries on piles and the mixed cemetery ,where Catholics , Muslims are buried together. Lunch at Tavern Du Pêcheur Restaurant . Dinner And overnight at Ecolodge de Simal or Ecolodge de Palmarin

Day 6 : Saloum Delta or Senegalese Amazonia .

This will be dedicated will to have a boat ride on the Saloum river or the Senegalese Amazonia to discover its beautiful mangrove ,its oysters and birds . And the afternoon around 4 :00 pm we will go out to explore a village . Dinner and overnight at Ecolodge de Simal or Ecolodge de Palmarin

Day 7 : Exploration of Mbour Fishing And Central Market And Lunch in a Senegalese Family

Discovery of one of Senegal's largest fishing harbour . First we start the colourful Central Market ,where we will discover and the vegetables and fish vendors and many others products . At the fish harbour ,we will attend the arrival of the fish folks. We will see a lot of beautiful painted boats ,the fishmongers ,the fish auction and so on …

To end the tour ,we will go to have Senegalese Djolof rice in a local family . There we will eat like the Senegalese ,on a carpet ,around a big plate and with the hands . After you will have a Senegalese tea with menthe .

Good to know : Whatever you bring in the Gambia as medecine must have prescription . It's mandatory ! If not ,will consider as drugs by the Gambian Police .

NB : we will not take our car with us the Gambia . Because it's not easy to board with your car to and from Banjul . Sometimes there are a lot vehicles ,lining up ,waiting for the ferry . The best option will be to take taxis in Banjul . If we are a big number ,we will arrange a Gambian bus
