The ancient city of Stobi is an archaeological site near the city of Veles. She was from 359 BC. Founded around 1000 BC, it was one of the largest cities in the northern part of the Roman province of Macedonia, later became the capital of the province of Macedonia Secunda and a major urban, military, administrative, commercial and religious center of two great empires: Roman and early Byzantium .

Located in the heart of Macedonia, at the crossroads of the Aegean world and the central Balkans, throughout the period of its existence it was a center where many cultural benefits were transferred to the ancient world. The night illumination of the city walls and the buildings discovered its attractiveness and beauty of the large buildings, mosaic floors as well as the theater which is one of the most impressive monuments of this city.
