One loka, two rivers, three hills and a thousand legends.
Škofja Loka or Bishop's Lag is a picturesque medieval town less than 1 hour from Ljubljana and offers a very special local atmosphere. Diverse culture and modern everyday life are enriched by rich tradition and history and thousands of legends. Since 2016 Škofja Loka's passion play is also on the list of UNESCO cultural heritage
We park our car in the modern part, but the most beautiful one is still waiting for us! Over a Teufelsbruecke we come directly in the old town. Old, mighty buildings invite us to get closer to something. Small quaint shops, the smell of freshly baked bread and cakes, little children running around quickly bring the town's medieval life to life.
If you can walk better, let's climb further to the castle: rich interior decoration and refreshing views will surely enchant us!
If you're a little hungry, no problem: the locals are happy to spoil us with their homemade delicacies!
If you hire a private guide/driver you will have several other opportunities to conquer the undiscovered corners!
